Frequently asked questions
Have an absolutely trash question that needs answering? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
Here are some tips to ensure GarbageDay always lands in your inbox:
If you use Gmail: Move a GarbageDay email to your primary inbox. You can do this by dragging the email to your inbox on desktop or clicking the 3 dots on mobile and “Move to” then “Primary”.
If you use Apple mail: Tap on the “From” email address and click “Add to VIPs”.
Other: Add care@garbageday.co to your address book.
With the app, if Location Services are activated, we’ll access the approximate location of a user’s device to allow the user to subscribe to GarbageDay reminder services without manually entering a home address. We’ll only have access to a user’s location information if the user has activated Location Services on their device and allowed the GarbageDay app to use Location Services, and we’ll only access it while the app is in use. Users can still receive GarbageDay reminders and offers without activating Location Services.
We take the privacy of our users very seriously, and we are strongly committed to being transparent and explicit around user consent. User location data is only collected and stored for the specific purposes outlined in the GarbageDay terms and conditions.
We take the privacy of our users very seriously, and we are strongly committed to being transparent and explicit around user consent. We never provide personal data to external partners except in cases where the user has expressly consented. If users choose to take advantage of a local merchant offer promoted through the GarbageDay app, we only share the total number of users who visited a particular location to access the offer. This information is shared on an anonymized, aggregate basis.
Since launching our services, we have received feedback from users on how we can make their lives even easier and add more value. Based on that feedback, we introduced a new app as well as new ways users can take advantage of relevant home-related offers and perks. We’ve partnered with select merchants to provide our users with special offers (perks). In return, our merchant partners pay us to distribute such offers to our users, allowing us to provide this service free-of-charge to all.
We service a growing number of towns and cities across 31 Regional Municipalities! Here is a list of the Collection Regions we provide waste reminders for. If you see the Regional Municipality that manages your waste collection, that means we’ve got you covered.
If you don’t see your Municipality below, you can still sign up for GarbageDay. We are working to expand to more cities across Canada. If you pre-register by completing the sign-up form, we will email you when we launch in your city.
